“Art made by the people and for the people“
WILLIAM MORRIS
Made in Merton connects people and place by developing creative projects that get people from all parts of the community involved in making.
We celebrate Merton’s design and making heritage while being mindful of modern environmental and sustainability concerns.
We run workshops for people of all ages with a strong ethos of having a go and sharing skills in a supportive environment. Our workshops are often collective making sessions, producing unique community-made artworks for exhibition and display.

Background
Made in Merton is a constituted community arts group. The four founding members initially met in 2017, when introduced whilst participating in a variety of local community projects.
On discovering common interests in making, community engagement and the history of William Morris ‘s works at Merton Abbey, the founding members formed Made in Merton in March 2018.
