Made in Merton connects people and place by developing creative projects that get people from all parts of the community involved in making.
We celebrate Merton’s design and making heritage while being mindful of modern environmental and sustainability concerns.
We run workshops for people of all ages with a strong ethos of having a go and sharing skills in a supportive environment. Our workshops are often collective making sessions, producing unique community-made artworks for exhibition and display.

We have a busy summer ahead!
On Saturday 18 July, we are running a stall and drop in session at Canons Summer Fair in Mitcham from 11 am to 1 pm…on Tuesday 11 August, a block-print workshop from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm at Sherwood Park in Mitcham for Library in the Park (free, but you need to reserve a place here)….and on Saturday 22 August, the textile artworks we have made with different communities for The Merton Story will be on display in Morden Library for Merton Heritage Discovery Day!

Background
Made in Merton is a constituted community arts group. The four founding members initially met in 2017 whilst participating in a variety of local community projects.
On discovering common interests in making, community engagement and the history of William Morris ‘s works at Merton Abbey, the founding members formed Made in Merton in March 2018.
